FLAT FOOT / Flat FEET

Flat foor can be split into two types rigid or flexible

RIGID- is caused by bone and joint deformity where two or more bones in the foot are fused, this condition is rare

FLEXIBLE- is much more common and refers to  a foot which assumes a flat postion when weight bearing. A true flat foot will have parts of the arch touching the floor when standing there are varying degrees of this deformity.

This condition must not be confused with pronation which a naturally occurring tri planar movement of the foot to enable the foot to become a mobile adaptor to un even ground


SYMPTOMS

Low arch profile

No arch at all

Splaying of fore foot and toes

Pain in the arch and joints of the foot

Muscle tiredness
